On top of that, the right sock sizes are different for men, women, and kids. The sock sizes differ for different age groups as well.
Phew! Sounds too complicated.
Don’t fret! I wrote this guide to resolve the complexity involved in finding the right sock size and help you find socks that are true to your foot size.
Here is a quick overview of how to find your right sock size:
- First, you need a number to start with. It could be your foot length in inches from heel to the largest toe, your current shoe size, or the age in the case of kids.
- Next, run the number through the charts given in this guide and find a corresponding sock size in the US metrics.
- Last, use the same charts to convert the US sock size into the UK, AUS, or EU numbers.
In the USA, socks sizes are measured in inches. So, it is crucial you measure your foot length in inches only. You can use a regular measuring tape to find out your right foot length from heel to the largest toe. If you need some help with the process, follow my guide on how to measure your foot.
